Argiolas: A Legacy of Excellence in Sardinian Winemaking
The Birth of a Renowned Wine Family
A highly-reputed producer and considered one of the major wine families in Sardinia, the Argiolas firm was born under the leadership of Francesco in 1918, who planted vines and started producing wine rigorously, seeking quality above all other things.
Generational Commitment to Quality Wines
It is now the third generation, namely the sons and daughters of Franco and Giuseppe, who work and produce high-quality wines with perseverance and ingenuity. Their offerings include - amongst others - Perdera, Korem or Turriga which regularly receive the highest awards from Il Gambero Rosso or Robert Parker, praising their excellence, modernity and typicality.
Sardinian Terroir Reflected in Unique Varieties
The Argiolas wines are produced over 690 acres of vineyards spread over 5 estates (Serdiana, Sisini, Selegas – Sa Tanca, Selegas – Bingias Beccias and Porto Pino). As such, Argiolas is typical of the Sardinian terroir in that it mainly produces native varieties like Cannonau (a Sardinian variety of Grenache), Bovale Sardo or even Monica which constitute Argiolas’ most prestigious red wines.
